How We Do It?
Find out more about the approaches we follow at Meraki Strategy and the state-of-the-art models we use.
How we analyze…
To analyze your L&D organization we use an adapted version of the LPI capability map to evaluate the maturity level along several dimensions as a first step to develop a qualification strategy. If you have special requirements, we can develop a customized capability model which perfectly fits your needs.
The LPI Capability Map from the Learning and Performance Institute is a great tool to assess where your strengths and skills gaps are and can help to plan for the future. We added more dimensions to it to even better understand where your organization is currently standing and to provide support when it comes to reaching your goals.
How we consult…
At Meraki Strategy we follow a holistic approach when developing qualification strategies and improving the performance of your learning organization. Therefore we use the industry approved frameworks from global market leaders such as McKinsey & Company.
People are the ones who bring your organization to life. The 5 Key Areas of Talent Development by McKinsey & Company help identify if L&D in your organization has the strategic function it should have.
The Academies Framework by McKinsey & Company identifies nine dimensions necessary for a strong L&D function. It can help in identifying in which area your organization is mature and where some support is needed.
How we design…
When developing content, we always focus on your learning objectives and the learning success of your target group. To achieve a behavioural change in your learners, we use well-established and state-of-the-art methodologies like the “flexible” ADDIE model and the Design Thinking process from Stanford University, to provide a unique blended learning experience. These days learning isn’t limited to just a class room. Therefore our learning designs always take informal and social learning into consideration, following the recommendations from the 70:20:10 Institute.
The ADDIE model that was first created by Florida State University and that has been around for more than four decades, is an instructional system design framework that can be used to develop courses, a whole curriculum or other training material.
Stanford is the leading university when it comes to design thinking. Their d.school Design Thinking Process helps to solve problems (especially the tricky ones) more creatively or more unconventionally, leading to better solutions.
The 70:20:10 Model developed by the Center for Creative Leadership and further evolved by the 70:20:10 Institute provides guidance on how learning should take place in an organizations.
How we implement…
Passion is part of our company’s DNA because we believe that learning is not just a mere knowledge transfer but rather should be interesting, fun and fruitful for all participants. When conducting training events, we therefore always follow the approach of the 5E Instructional Model. We switch our roles from trainer to facilitator, to coach and provide activities that allow the learners to explore and elaborate the content, leading to a more engaging experience.
The 5E Instructional Model by the BSCS Science Learning helps instructors on how to design their sessions to achieve a strong foundation of knowledge through active participation.
How we evaluate…
How do you know if your trainings and learning offerings are efficient? If you know if your training content is actually being used, if you understand what offerings satisfied your target audience, if you keep track of their learning success and if they are implementing the newly attained knowledge and skills at their workplace. We can support you with KPI maps and dashboards as well as evaluation models such as the well-known one from Kirkpatrick Partners or the more recent Learning-Transfer Evaluation Model to make sure your training and learning are as efficient as they should be.
The New World Kirkpatrick Model by Kirkpatrick Partners helps creating a training evaluation plan to assess the effectiveness of the training that is provided. It objectively analyzes the impact of training, how well participants have learned and how learning can be improved in the future.
